Carrying your child promotes physiological processes including that of lactation thanks to the mother/baby contact . Are babywearing and breastfeeding compatible? In a sling or baby carrier, it is quite possible to combine the two. Here are 5 positions to breastfeed while wearing!
1 - The position of the Madonna, a classic of breastfeeding in a baby sling
Also says the lying cradle position. • By PESN , by slightly loosening the rings, it is very easy to tip the baby on the breast • With the BASIC or the Original JPMBB , with baby in the basic knot in front carry, it can be tilted in a cradle. ( Tutorial HERE )
2 - The position of the koala, vertical breastfeeding
Do you see the koala hanging on its mom? That's quite right ! This position is great for babies suffering from GERD or having a lot of regurgitation. This will also be the only position for some babies who do not like the cradle (also interesting if the mother has a large breast ).
3 - The hybrid, between the Madonna and the Koala
It is a hybrid position between the first 2, the child remains in vertical position , but positioned on the side and not facing the breast. This position is very practical in sling , baby already on the side. ( Tutorial HERE in PESN)
4 - Breastfeed in a baby carrier
Breastfeed baby in the PhysioCarrier / HoodieCarrier is quite possible in a vertical position. All you have to do is loosen the straps and pull out the breast . Convenient !
5 - Freestyle, for adventurers
Baby is screaming, he's hungry! We squirm, we manage to extract a breast out of the tissue. Meanwhile, the screams gave way to a nipple hunter. The suction cup mouth sucks everything within its reach, and eventually reaches the Grail breast ! From there, we adapt and see if the baby carrier or the sling is suitable for breastfeeding. We end up adjusting everything and enjoying this moment, mind and heart soothed by the release of oxytocin in our bodies as mothers and babies. Breastfeed while wearing? It goes without saying! ;-)
