Can I use a baby carrier in the car?
Whether you use baby wraps, a sling or a physiological baby carrier, the answer is the same: no babywearing system — however sturdy and well-adjusted it may be — is approved for travel by car.
"Tied wraps, ring slings, buckle carriers or clip carriers: all are designed for everyday use on foot, not to absorb the forces of a collision or emergency braking. In the car, only a car seat suited to your child's age and weight guarantees their safety."
Is it possible to keep my baby in a carrier in the car?
No.
The baby wraps does not in any way replace an approved child restraint system suited to the baby's age and weight for travel by car. The knots and fabric are not designed to provide adequate restraint in the event of deceleration.
It is imperative that you take Baby out of the wraps to place them in their car seat.
Even for a short journey and even at very low speed, airbag deployment and seatbelt tensioning pose a serious danger.
