YES, the PhysioCarrier 2 is suitable for newborns!

The adjustable seat (11 to 38 cm) allows you to carry an infant without straining the natural spread of their hips.

Passing the straps under their legs also helps achieve the curled-up position that mimics the one they had in their mother's womb. Your newborn is in a flexed position, with knees higher than the hips, lower back rounded, and hands close to their face, providing comfort and reassurance: a position considered “physiological.”

Aside from the style (but you already know that), the main difference is that the PhysioCarrier 2 features a ventilation window on your baby’s back to provide airflow and allow you to see their posture. On the other hand, the HoodieCarrier 2 has a soft and flexible fabric that mimics the feeling of a baby wrap :) You could say the HoodieCarrier 2 offers a cozy “blanket-like” feeling with its knitted fabric, while the PhysioCarrier 2 provides a slightly firmer sensation with its high-quality, satin cross-twill fabric.

Both carriers allow for newborn use thanks to their adjustable-width seat and offer the option to attach the shoulder straps under the baby’s legs to help maintain their curled-up position with limbs close together. The loops prevent contact with the baby’s legs.

Both are pre-shaped baby carriers, suitable for all seasons, offering front, side, and back carrying options. Usable from birth up to 20 kg. The fabric is guaranteed free of harmful substances and certified as hip-healthy by the IHDI. Physiological positioning is assured.

You can wash your PhysioCarrier 2 in the washing machine at 30°C short cycle, spin at 600 rpm, no tumble dryer.

For more delicate fabrics such as cotton gauze, broken twill or cross twill: they require more attention and must be treated with care, like baby :) but they can also be machine washed on a short cycle at 30° with a gentle spin at 500 rpm.

The main difference is that the PhysioCarrier 2 is an all-in-one solution (no accessories needed) with an adjustable-width seat to accommodate the infant's hip spacing and an adjustable central panel height for the child's size (similar to the PhysioCarrier).

These are two different solutions but equally physiological for carrying from 0 to 36 months.

The PhysioCarrier 2 is also made from high-quality cross-twill fabric. With the PhysioCarrier 2, you can also attach the straps under the baby’s bottom to better maintain their curled-up position and keep their limbs grouped together. The strap loops prevent contact with the baby’s legs.

This is a position we don't recommend much because the baby needs to see their parent's reactions. In forward-facing carrying, the infant is left to themselves and to the great stimulation of their surroundings. Instead, opt for side or back carrying to satisfy their curiosity from 4-6 months onwards :)

This is why our PhysioCarrier 2 does not allow forward-facing or outward-facing carrying.
