Baby wraps
For the first months, nothing will ever equal the baby wrap and the skin to skin it allows. This promotes heat regulation, lactation, oxytocin ... You will have your hands free! For babies, the wrap allows you to make a transition with the mother's womb by prolonging the feeling of security. The physiological position leads to better digestion and therefore less reflux, colic.

Baby wrap knot: step-by-step tutorial

How to tie the baby wrap knot?

Everything will start with the BASIC Knot, a knot that you tie beforehand before putting Baby in. You can keep the tie on you and put your Baby in and take them out without undoing the knot, and this in different positions that you can see on other pages of the site :)

This knot is optimized for our stretchy wraps and will not be valid for a woven wrap.

Use this tutorial to make your first tie with a baby wrap before installing baby.

Difficulty: Easy (we promise)

Required material: baby wrap

Step 1: Create a cape with the wrap

On your wrap, you have the label that will serve as your reference point.

  • Take the wrap by the top edge
  • Place it on your back, like a cape, label on the outside in the middle of your neck

Step 2: Clear your strong shoulder

Instinctively, you definitely have a side where you feel more comfortable carrying baby. And it's this side that we're going to call the strong shoulder!

  • Clear this shoulder by taking your arm out of the cape and passing the wrap under your armpit :)

Step 3: Slide the wrap label in front of you

  • Pull the wrap with the arm that carries (where your shoulder is free)
  • Stop when the label is in the middle of your chest

Step 4: Create the first strap

  • Take the fabric panel covering your shoulder
  • Gather the fabric
  • Center the fabric on your shoulder, like a tank top

Step 5: Create the second strap

  • Take the fabric panel with the label in front of you by the top edge
  • Pass it under the armpit on the side of the first strap and go all the way to the back as if wrapping yourself in it
  • Plant the elbow of the strong shoulder in the fabric while holding it with the hand on the same side
  • Pull up the fabric to cover your entire forearm and eliminate all folds
  • Form a strap again on your strong shoulder by gathering the fabric
  • Center the fabric on your shoulder, like a tank top
  • Pass the fabric panel of the strap inside the "pouch" created in front

Step 6 - Adjust the wrap to your body shape

The wrap needs to fit you, a bit like a t-shirt, not too tight or too loose. So there are 2 control points.

  • The horizontal panel should not gape
  • To adjust it, grasp the strap of my strong shoulder towards the neck and pull towards the ceiling/forward to tighten
  • Lower the excess fabric under the pouch
  • Do the same on the other side
  • The X should fall behind the neck, nice and high

Step 7: Cross the straps

  • Grasp both straps by the fabric hanging under the horizontal panel (left hand left strap, right hand right strap)
  • Pass the strap fabric from the strong shoulder over the other strap to cross them (while staying under the pouch obviously)
  • Check that the X formed by the crossing of the straps is located at chest level

Step 8: Tie the wrap with a knot!

  • Take the lower strap by the outer edge so it stays smooth
  • Spread the fabric over your ribs to wrap around yourself until you tuck it between your legs
  • Do the same thing on the other side: both your fabric panels are now in front of you
  • Tie a double knot on the side to "close" the wrap and secure everything :)

We hope this step-by-step tutorial will help you :), and for more assistance here is a video that covers the same points.
