Baby wraps
For the first months, nothing will ever equal the baby wrap and the skin to skin it allows. This promotes heat regulation, lactation, oxytocin ... You will have your hands free! For babies, the wrap allows you to make a transition with the mother's womb by prolonging the feeling of security. The physiological position leads to better digestion and therefore less reflux, colic.

3 2 1 ... HAPPY NEW YEAR (even with baby)

The month of December is not known for being the warmest of the year, as you will agree. Fortunately, my partner and I had had nine months to prepare ourselves for facing the cold and to make sure that our little boy, newly born, would not suffer from it. As we had decided from the outset that we did not want a pushchair, there was no point in bundling our newborn up in a big thick coat, since at every outing he was going to benefit from the body warmth of his dad or mine, thanks to the baby wrap. It was indeed, in the early days, the carrying method we found the most comfortable and the easiest to put on. At each of our outings, therefore, we would dress our son in a comfortable outfit, put a hat on his head, settle him in the wrap (the No Knot Little Wrap or the Originale JPMBB to be precise), and whichever of us was carrying him would put their coat on over the top (when it was really very cold, we added a blanket). The most important thing was that our little boy was comfortable, neither too cold nor too warm, and above all that his airways were well clear, as a newborn cannot yet turn his head on his own and one must always ensure that he is breathing properly. And so, from leaving the maternity ward to doing the shopping, including walks and the first family gatherings (I use the plural for the latter, as is often the case, there are grandparents, uncles and aunts on both sides), our little boy never set foot outside (if I may say so) without being snuggled against one of us, much to our delight! It was also in the wrap and in our arms that he spent his first New Year's Eve. We had received two invitations to celebrate the New Year at friends' places but declined both, because after having spent rather hectic Christmas celebrations, we thought it would not be a bad idea to stay a little quiet. On the morning of the 31st, we went to do a little shopping in order to "mark the occasion". Even so, we wandered a little in the shops and in the shopping centre (not yet stripped of its festive lights), then headed home. The day was punctuated by numerous feeds, kisses, cuddles, a bath, naps, nappy changes, alert periods, kisses, cuddles, kisses, cuddles (have I said that already?) and more kisses and cuddles (you can never have enough in my opinion). As evening came, we savoured our delicious "homemade" meal, taking care not to make too much noise so as not to wake our little boy who was sleeping peacefully in his Moses basket, not far from us. Then, in all simplicity, we settled into our big sofa to watch a film we had chosen together as a couple. What is certain is that we did not bring in the New Year by shouting "Happy New Year!", but instead, our son, who had woken up shortly before midnight for a feed, gave us the most moving of New Year's celebrations by gazing his beautiful blue eyes into ours before falling back to sleep in the most adorable way, in our arms…

All we needed to do was look at him to know that the year ahead would be an excellent one!
